Helena Hervius Askling is a MD/Senior Consultant at the Department of Infectious Diseases at Karolinska University Hospital.
She contributes to a specialized vaccination policlinic for patients with immunosuppression and is part of the Vaccelerate-project, a clinical research EU- network for the coordination & conduct of COVID-19 vaccine trials.
Apart from above, her ongoing research, in affiliation with Karolinska Institutet, concerns vaccination response in immunosuppressed patients and elderly patients, and different aspects of tick-borne encephalitis epidemiology and vaccination.
Since 2013 she is also head of the first Swedish University level course in vaccinology for clinicians, at Karolinska Institutet.
She is also the coordinator of the Swedish Association of Infectious Diseases Vaccination Group.
