Alexander Egeberg, MD, PhD, DMSc

Alexander Egeberg is Associate Professor and Consultant Dermatologist in the Department of Dermatology at Bispebjerg Hospital, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Here he serves as head of one of the largest psoriasis clinics in Northern Europe with more than 1,500 patients on biologic therapy, as well as head of the psoriasis clinical trial unit. He earned his MD from the University of Southern Denmark and his PhD and doctoral degree in medical science (DMSc) from the University of Copenhagen. Dr Egeberg also holds a postgraduate degree in Economics from Copenhagen Business School, focused on health economics and public health.
From his involvement in numerous global clinical trial programmes, he has extensive knowledge of drug development, has served on global Data Safety Monitoring Boards, and has been acting advisor for the EMA (European Medicines Agency) on matters related to psoriasis drug development.
Dr Egeberg has authored approximately 250 scientific publications and textbook chapters and has broad experience in epidemiology, real-world evidence, translational medicine, and clinical trials. His main research interests involve inflammatory diseases and the development and use of biologics and novel small-molecule therapies.
